Director's message
Thank you for your interest in the Transitional Year Residency Program at Penn Medicine Doylestown Health.
We welcomed our inaugural class of eight residents in 2024, and building this program has been one of the great privileges of my career. It was designed around a single question: what does this resident actually need to succeed in the specialty they have worked so hard to match into?
That question shapes the whole year. Of your thirteen blocks, five are electives that we build with you rather than hand to you. Your core rotations include emergency medicine, critical care, general surgery, anesthesia, palliative care, ambulatory care, and inpatient medicine on teaching services created specifically for resident education, along with a quality improvement curriculum you will genuinely own. We are small enough to tailor the year to where you are headed and structured enough to make the foundation exceptional.
What our residents talk about most is the faculty. You will work with board-certified attendings who teach because they want to and who are always looking for another way to support you. I am personally involved in resident education on the inpatient side every day, so you will be seeing a great deal of me on rounds and in conference. Here, you will be known.
To date, our residents have matched into anesthesiology, radiology, radiation oncology, dermatology, and physical medicine and rehabilitation at esteemed programs including Penn Medicine, Johns Hopkins, Jefferson, and Mass General Brigham / Harvard Medical School to name a few. One hundred percent have matched into their advanced specialty, and one hundred percent have passed USMLE Step 3 and COMLEX Level 3 on the first attempt to date.
Doylestown Hospital is a wonderful place to train, with the resources of Penn Medicine and the collegiality of a community hospital that is nationally recognized for quality and patient safety. Doylestown itself is a walkable Bucks County town full of art, history, and good food, an hour from Philadelphia and ninety minutes from New York City.
We would love to meet you. Come see what we are building.

I have spent my entire career in graduate medical education. Since completing my Family Medicine residency at Latrobe Area Hospital in 2011, I have been teaching residents, and I have never wanted to do it any other way. I started at Main Line Health's Bryn Mawr Hospital, where I served as inpatient director for the Bryn Mawr Family Medicine Residency Program and helped build their inpatient program.
That work brought me to Doylestown in 2018, recruited to bring graduate medical education to a hospital that had never had a medical residency. In 2023 I was one of the founders of our first program in Family Medicine, and in 2024 I helped found our Transitional Year Residency Program, where I now serve as Program Director. I am also Inpatient GME Director for both programs and our lead academic hospitalist. I built our inpatient teaching services from the ground up, growing from eight residents to thirty-two and from a single team to two full teaching services running every week. Those services are fully integrated with every specialty this hospital has to offer, so our residents learn medicine the way it is actually practiced, shoulder to shoulder with the consultants caring for their patients.
Inpatient medicine is my passion, and it continues beyond the hospital doors through the geriatric patients I care for in our community nursing homes. It makes me a better physician and a better teacher.
My door is always open, and I mean that. Outside the hospital you will find me with family and friends, traveling when I can, and watching far too much Philadelphia sports.

Welcome to Doylestown Health’s new Transitional Year Residency program. I am excited to be a part of Doylestown Health’s transition to academic medicine and to have the opportunity to guide and mentor residents on their path to becoming excellent clinicians.
I am currently an outpatient Internist with Doylestown Health Internal Medicine. I received my MD/PHD degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University and completed my internal medicine residency at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City. I discovered my passion for teaching while serving as an instructor of Clinical Medicine with the Department of General Internal Medicine at Mount Sinai. I moved back to my hometown of Upper Black Eddy, PA and started working at Doylestown Health in 2020. I have three young children and enjoy outdoor activities with my family, including hiking, biking, gardening and raising chickens.

I am an Infectious Disease physician with Doylestown Health Infectious Disease. I received my medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University, and completed my residency at Greenwich Hospital and a fellowship in Infectious Diseases at the University of Texas Medical Branch.
I strive to provide compassionate, patient-centered care that includes listening and communicating with my patients. In my personal life, I enjoy gardening with a focus on native plants and volleyball. I also have served as a ropes course facilitator — leading groups of all ages in team building and interpersonal relational exercises.
