Surgery divisions 

Breast

Our skilled team of surgeons and advanced practice providers deliver surgical care to patients with benign and malignant breast disease at 3 downtown Philadelphia hospitals and in the Main Line, Chester County, Lancaster, and southern New Jersey.

Cardiovascular

Penn cardiovascular surgeons are dedicated to the research of, and clinical care for patients with a variety cardiovascular disorders.

Colon and rectal

We are dedicated to the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of disorders of the colon, rectum, and anus.

Endocrine and oncologic

We are dedicated to the research, treatment and care for patients with both benign and malignant tumors in the breast, GI tract, liver, pancreas, skin, and endocrine glands like the thyroid, parathyroid and adrenals.

Gastrointestinal

Penn GI surgeons are dedicated to the research of, and clinical care for patients with a variety of digestive, liver and pancreatic disorders.

Pediatric

The Penn Division of Pediatric General Surgery, located at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, treats children of all ages from newborns to 19 years.

Plastic

Penn plastic surgeons use the latest technology for both cosmetic and reconstructive surgery including lasers to treat skin conditions.

Thoracic

We are dedicated to understanding of, and caring for patients with thoracic disorders like lung cancer, mesothelioma, emphysema and esophageal cancer.

Transplant

Our surgeons specialize in the transplant of all major solid organs, including heart, lung, liver, kidney and pancreas, and complex multi-organ transplantation.

Traumatology

For traumatically injured or critically ill patients in need of immediate help, our Level 1 Regional Resource Trauma Center offers acute and critical care.

Urology

The Penn Division of Urology is dedicated to the research, treatment and care for patients with disorders of the urinary tract.

Vascular surgery and endovascular therapy

The surgeons from Vascular Surgery and Endovascular Therapy diagnose and treat blood vessel disorders from complex abdominal aortic aneurysms to varicose veins.
