Mission

Our belief at Penn Medicine is that true excellence in healthcare arises only with astrong foundation of community with both our patients and between each other within our own healthcare system.

Our division is committed to fostering an environment that embraces all. It is our mission to make sure our patients feel welcome and heard in all aspects of their care, and that there is space for every member of our EDM community to express their opinions, ideas, and goals.

We have multidisciplinary work groups actively working towards achieving this mission within the clinical, research, community, people, culture and educational spaces.

Please explore our website further or contact us for more information.

LGBTQ+

Everyone deserves to feel valued, to have their voices heard, and to be treated with respect and care in all aspects of their health. We here at the division of Endocrinology & Diabetes, and all of those who provide care within the PENN Medicine Community, strive to make healthcare equitable and accessible to all our patients, including those in the LGBTQ+ community. Our division aims to eradicate the barriers that members of the LGBTQ+ community encounter in receiving medical care such as:

  1. Refusal of care based on sexual preference and/or sexual orientation
  2. Lack of experience of providers in treating those in the LGBTQ+ community
  3. Lack of trust & feeling(s) of mistreatment between providers & those in the LGBTQ+ community
  4. Insurance discrimination and/or lack of access to affordable Insurance

As a message to all our patients, especially those within the LGBTQ+ community, know that here at PENN Medicine, you are regarded with acceptance and appreciation, and we welcome you!
